Established by Gustave Richard Lambert, G. R. Lambert & Co. was a photographic studio whose vast collection of prints now serve as a comprehensive source of photographic documentation of early Singapore.

Photographic prints were a popular form of tourism souvenirs in the 1870s and G. R. Lambert and Co. was the leading studio at that time. The prints produced by the studio reflected panoramic landscape and architectural views of Singapore as well as studio portraitures.

The studio was credited for having the most comprehensive photographic documentation of the topography and peoples of Southeast Asia by the early 20th century.
