1 GEMMILLS
The people behind Mediterannean restaurant Maggie Joan's have opened a new all-day dining concept called Gemmills. The name is inspired by John Gemmill, a successful auctioneer and banker in the 1840s who donated the Gemmill Fountain at Raffles Place, Singapore's first public drinking fountain.
Gemmills, located next to Maggie Joan's, offers breakfast on-the-go and 50 labels of red and white wines, as well as beer. It is also a licensed bottle shop for takeaways.
The menu features lentil, chickpea and parmesan salad ($10); duck rillettes ($10); and a tart of the day ($10), such as chocolate and hazelnut. A selection of cheese (from $10) and charcuterie (from $7) items are also available. More items will be added to the menu soon.
