Missed the In-N-Out burger? Here are 6 other burger joints you mustn't miss

So you didn't make it to American burger chain In-N-Out's one-day pop-up at Timber at Gillman Barracks. Fret not burger fans, here are six of my favourite ones for you to sink your teeth into. (Listed in no order of preference.)


1. The Market Grill's CW BBQ ($22) and CW Breakfast Burger ($23)

What: The CW BBQ's succulent beef patty is lathered with a robust house-made barbecue sauce, melted aged cheddar, romaine lettuce and gherkins, and served on a sesame, while the CW Breakfast Burger includes a sunny-side up egg and bacon. For those with a heartier appetite, opt for a 200g patty instead of the usual 150g one.

2. Carl's Jr's Famous Star With Cheese ($9.90)

What: For a good ol' cheeseburger that's more pocket-friendly, opt for Carl's Jr's Famous Star With Cheese. It's sizable, hearty, and will fill you up in a jiffy. Other topping on burgers at this chain include guacamole, bacon and jalapenos.

3. Omakase Burger's Ultimate Cheeseburger ($18.50)

What: Expect the works including bacon, cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms in this power-packed burger. Pricey for the size, but these burger patties are so juicy that you will have liquid trickling down your fingers. Be sure to eat it quickly if you don't want your bun to get soggy.

4. db Bistro Moderne's Original db Burger ($42)

What: The Original db Burger, created by New York-based Michelin-starred French chef Daniel Boulud, is one of the most luxe burgers in town. Its patty, which is a mix of sirloin and braised short rib, has a thick chunk of foie gras in the centre. Served on a parmesan bun, this burger hits all the right spots.

Open: Noon to 5pm (weekdays), 11am to 5pm (on weekends for brunch), 5.30 to 10pm (Sundays and Mondays), 5.30 to 11pm (Tuesdays to Saturdays)

Price: From $23 to $42 for a burger

5. OverEasy's To Die For Burger ($22)

What: The beef patties here are made with a wagyu chuck-blend and served on a soft brioche bun. OverEasy's To Die For Burger includes lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheddar cheese and a special in-house sauce. Those who like truffles may want to try the Truffle Burger, with roasted onions and mushrooms, Swiss cheese and a house-made black truffle mayonnaise.

What: The Rebellion Burgers at Regent Hotel's New York-esque, art-deco bar Manhattan, are made with Angus beef and served with artisan Nicasio cheese, butter lettuce and house-made tomato onion jam, between a paprika bun.
