"I like the gula melaka sauce on this Power Chendol ($2). It is richer and thicker than in other versions of chendol that I've tried. Instead of being a crumbly mountain, the ice is pressed into a compact ball, so it melts slowly and I can enjoy every mouthful of this old-school dessert."

"I saw photos of Pandan Churros ($4.50) online and headed straight for them at the Ramadan bazaar in Geylang Serai. I like how the churros are given a local flavour, and they are soft and chewy inside and crispy on the outside. The ones at the bottom of the cup are soaked in gula melaka sauce, which makes them very sweet."
