Chef Jason Tan to open own restaurant

The former Corner House chef will serve gastro-botanica cuisine at his yet-to-be-named eatery in Tras Street, which is slated to open in September

His new restaurant is in Tras Street, lined with shophouses and far away from the Botanic Gardens, but gastro-botanica will remain the focus of chef Jason Tan's cuisine.

The 38-year-old has left Corner House at the gardens and will be opening his own restaurant in September. He and an overseas investor have equal shares and they are collectively putting a high six-figure sum into the venture.
