British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has gone into partnership with Marina Bay Sands and will be opening a restaurant at the integrated resort next year.

The chef runs some 25 restaurants around the world from New York to Doha, including his eponymous three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Royal Hospital Road, London.

He will be opening the casual Bread Street Kitchen here, and recently opened a similar restaurant in Hong Kong.

The restaurant's interior will have an industrial-warehouse theme and feature a British-European menu. If the London restaurant's menu is anything to go by, dishes will range from classic English ones to ricotta hotcakes, ceviches and beef short rib burgers.

The chef joins the likes of other celebrity chefs who have also opened on the property, including United States-based chefs Daniel Boulud of db Bistro Moderne and Wolfgang Puck of the steakhouse Cut.

Ramsay, who was in town last July for the SingTel Hawker Heroes challenge, has a huge fan base in Singapore. He was mobbed at Maxwell and Newton food centres and many had shown up just to catch a glimpse of the famously foul-mouthed chef.

His television shows, including Hell's Kitchen and Masterchef US, are also popular here.
