F1's choice eats: Dining menus specially created for the race zone

Formula One season is upon us once again, but not all the fun is reserved just for motorheads or Jennifer Lopez fans. Foodies can pick from a variety of specially created dining menus offered by restaurants around the race zone.

A growing number of establishments situated further away are also jumping on the bandwagon and concocting F1-themed meals. Life!Weekend sniffs out the most enticing restaurant deals.

Three-Michelin-star race dinner at The Ritz-Carlton

The Podium Lounge might be the place to party at during the F1 season but this year, it has another attraction - a menu designed and cooked by Quique Dacosta, the chef behind the eponymous three-Michelin-star restaurant in Spain.

Expect bold flavours such as pig crackling, foie gras and black truffle from the five-course menu, paired with wines from Castell d'Encus and Chateau Margaux.

Sunday F1 brunch at Raffles Hotel

Feast in style at the Victorian-era-inspired main lobby of Raffles Hotel, usually open only to hotel guests, at the hotel's annual F1 brunch buffet.

It features an array of seafood including oysters and caviar, as well as special desserts such as the F1 Wheel with raspberry lemongrass compote and dark chocolate. Guests can pair their meal with Billecart-Salmon champagne which will be poured from magnum bottles (equivalent to two wine bottles), so you can get extra-lightheaded.

Four-course F1 menu at Nuvo

Diners can be a part of the action at this contemporary Italian and Japanese-inspired restaurant, which has a prime view of the F1 street circuit.

An avid fan of the F1 race championships, executive chef Mark Richards has created a four-course meal that includes foie gras, caviar and Rangers Valley wagyu beef, and named each course after his favourite F1 drivers.

The Michael Schumacher, for instance, consists of foie gras with port jelly, caviar and brioche.

F1 Champagne Taittinger Brunch at Senso Ristorante & Bar

Sick of having eggs benedict for brunch? How about some Italian instead?

Senso is bringing back its F1-themed brunch on Sept 21, offering pimped up versions of old favourites such as risotto gamberoni (prawn risotto) finished with champagne and pancetta flakes, and caramelised apple tart.

The brunch is served with an endless flow of Champagne Taittinger, italian wines and beers.

F1 experience at Cove Stadium

Sentosa Cove might be some distance away from the action but that is not stopping the team behind sports bistro bar Cove Stadium from organising an F1 experience for diners.

With a specially customised red Ferrari F1 race car mounted on the wall, customers can watch the races on the bar's two projector screens and three plasma TVs, while chomping on some bar grub - Alonso hamburger, Hamilton hot dog and Rosberg pizza - specially named after prominent drivers on the race circuit.

F1 platters at The Glass House Restaurant and Tisettanta Lounge

If finger food is your thing, try the F1-inspired platters at The Glass House Restaurant and Tisettanta Lounge at Hotel Fort Canning.

There will be four options to choose from, including the Pit Stop Platter comprising fried calamari, cheesy fries and deep fried chicken wings, and the Fuel Tank Platter made up of bacon-wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cheese, crab stuffed button mushrooms and meatballs.
