2am's dessert chef to go global

Dessert chef Janice Wong and investor Manoj M. Murjani join hands to expand here and abroad

The sweets, chocolates and edible art creations of Singapore pastry chef Janice Wong of 2am:dessertbar will be making their way to other parts of Singapore and abroad.

The 31-year-old, who started her dessert restaurant in Holland Village seven years ago, has teamed up with Mr Manoj M. Murjani, chairman of Group MMM, an investments and acquisitions group that focuses on the development of lifestyle, hospitality and food and beverage companies and brands.

He is better known here for being one of the co-founders of home-grown tea label TWG Tea. Earlier this year, he went into partnership with former Tokyo Michelin-starred French chef Bruno Menard, and has plans to open restaurants here and overseas.

Together, chef Wong and Mr Murjani, who have formed an equal partnership, will be expanding both locally and overseas with three main concepts.
