NEW BEAUTY APP

Make room for another beauty and wellness app in your smartphone.

The Vaniday mobile app allows you to book beauty services such as hair treatments, manicures and facials from more than 700 reputable salons such as Kim Robinson hair salon and Estheva Spa at Raffles Hotel.

With the app, you can review services, get immediate confirmation on your appointment and reminders. For those who are time-starved, the app allows users to make payment before or after their treatment.

This is the app's first foray into South-east Asia and it joins a handful of other similar beauty-service booking apps here, such as Vanitee and GetKlarity. Vaniday launched in Brazil last year and is available in Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Russia.

The app is free for download on the Apple and Googleplay store. Go to www.vaniday.com.sg for details.

GHD NOW AT SEPHORA

British brand ghd, known for its hairstyling tools, is now available at cosmetics franchise Sephora.

Previously, the brand was available only at selected salons such as Salon Vim at 313@Somerset and Shunji Matsuo at Ngee Ann City.

It is also introducing three new hairstyling tools: ghd Platinum (a hair straightener and styler, $395), ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong and ghd Curve Creative Curl Wand (both $330).

Sephora will also carry the ghd Gold V Classic (the brand's classic straightener and styler which costs $295) and the ghd Air (a hairdryer which costs $225).

The brand's hairstyling products such as serums and hairsprays will not be sold at Sephora.

KIPLING'S BOLD FACELIFT

Belgium brand Kipling, known for its neutral-toned lightweight tote bags and monkey mascot, has revamped its designs.

Expect bold, geometric patterns in colours such as yellow and cobalt blue and items such as luggage, totes and backpacks in its signature crinkled nylon fabric. There is also an assortment of mini bags monogrammed with the brand's seasonal Monkey Spring print.

Prices range from $45 for a pencil case to $469 for a shoulder tote.

The brand re-opened its fourth boutique at Bugis Junction yesterday. Other boutiques are located at 313@Somerset, Ion Orchard and VivoCity.
