FRENCH EYEWEAR BRAND LAUNCHES POP-UP

See Concept - founded in 2010 by friends Charles Brun, Xavier Aguera and Quentin Couturier - will launch a pop-up concept at Robinsons The Heeren on Tuesday. It will be around until the end of next month.

The label focuses on affordable yet fashionable eyewear and has three main unisex collections - Sun, Screen and Reading. Spectacles from the Screen collection protect the eyes by filtering out 40 per cent of the blue light emitted from computer screens.

Blue light is said to cause headaches, sore eyes and irreversible damage such as cataract growth in the long run.

See Concept's founders recommend shape #E (below) for Asian faces: "The shape fits Asian people better as it is slightly wider than the other shapes. Both men and women can wear it."

The glasses are made in Taiwan and prices range from $49 to $69.

DONATE UNDERWEAR FOR A CAUSE

Home-grown lingerie brand Perk by Kate is partnering with bra-donation organisation The Uplift Project on its first bra donation drive in Singapore.

New and second-hand bras collected will be sent to women in disadvantaged communities in countries such as Fiji and the Philippines.

To kick-start the year-round effort, the online retailer will donate more than 100 new undergarments.

Bras of any size and type - including nursing and mastectomy bras - swimwear and new underpants can be donated, but donors should avoid giving used panties, bodysuits and lingerie.

Donated bras can be mailed to Perk by Kate at 618 Yishun Ring Road, 10-3236, or dropped off at The Uplift Project's main office at 09-86 Northstar @ AMK, 7030 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5.
