MONICA VINADER IN SINGAPORE

Luxury jewellery brand Monica Vinader, which counts British actress Emma Watson and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton as fans, opened its first Singapore boutique at Ion Orchard in December.

The British brand is known for its contemporary and wearable designs of gemstones and diamonds fashioned into earrings, rings, pendants and bracelets.

The 230 sq ft boutique features a Friendship bar where customers can engrave personal messages, motifs or doodles on their jewellery.

It has the full range of Spring/Summer 2016 collections, including the Fiji collection of colourful cord bracelets, the tropical sea-inspired Siren collection of 18-karat yellow- and rose-gold vermeil cuffs and earrings and diamond letter pendants in Vinader's own script.

A men's collection of corded bracelets and sterling silver cufflinks is also available.

Prices range from $75 for a fine chain in sterling silver to $4,805 for a Fiji pave bar diamond bracelet in rose gold.

Monica Vinader is at B1-K7 Ion Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, tel: 6509-6568, open from 10am to 10pm daily.

DIOR RE-OPENS AT ION ORCHARD

Re-opened on Jan 29, the 7,534 sq ft boutique is the first women's duplex store for French label Dior in South-east Asia and its largest flagship store in Singapore. Its grey-and-white interior is by renowned architect Peter Marino and meant to emulate the brand's Paris boutique on Avenue Montaigne.

There are classically inspired mouldings on the walls and ceilings, with a floor-to-ceiling glass facade in the brand's signature "Cannage" grid design. Sculptural furnishings such as coffee tables fill the space, done by leading Parisian designers Roland Mellan and Franck Evennou.

There is an exclusive VIP salon on the first floor, accessible only via a private elevator. The main boutique and entrance is on the second floor. Women can shop from a selection of accessories such as jewellery, timepieces, shoes and the brand's complete range of handbags, along with its ready-to-wear collection.

The Dior flagship boutique is at 01-22 & 02-12 Ion Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, tel: 6238-8228, open from 10.30am to 9.30pm daily.

NEW BROW-SHAPING PRODUCTS

French cosmetics giant L'Oreal has released two new brow products to allow customers to shape and style their brows to their preferred look.

The Brow Artist Genius Kit ($21.90), an all-in-one palette for natural-looking brows, has a styling wax, a tinted powder, an angled brush and a spooled brush. The pigmented wax can be used to shape the brows while the shaded powder helps to set the look. The kit comes in two colours, light to medium and medium to dark.

For fuller-looking straight brows, get the Brow Artist Chisel Straight ($19.90), a mascara-like tube with a small brow brush. The combing brush lets users apply the product on the brows evenly, while a felt tip at the end of the tool allows them to shape the brows for a thicker look.

Both products - available in light or dark brown - are sold at L'Oreal Paris Cosmetics counters at Watsons, Guardian and Sasa, and selected Fairprice and department stores.
