Retailers here on sale

Singapore-based e-retailers such as Qoo10, Zalora, Luxola and Reebonz are jumping on the Black Friday/ Cyber Monday bandwagon again this year.

A spokesman for Qoo10 said that response was very good last year, with "more than half of our special Black Friday items snapped up".

This year's sale, which starts on Wednesday, will offer discounts of up to 80 per cent, the same as the previous year. There will also be a Cyber Monday sale, with 80 per cent off selected items.

Fashion retailer Zalora will be offering discounts of up to 80 per cent off, with an additional 18 per cent discount for a minimum purchase of $120. Its Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals start on Nov 27 at midnight and end on Nov 30 at 11.59pm.

Zalora has also tied up with online cashback shopping platform Ebates to offer exta rebates on Black Friday. Those who sign up to shop at Zalora via Ebates will get up to 24 per cent cashback from purchases.

Beauty and skincare retailer Luxola will hold a one-day Black Friday sale this year, prompted by good sales during its Cyber Monday sale last year. The online retailer declined to disclose whether it will have a Cyber Monday this year, or specific deals for Black Friday. But it says "top brands and cult beauty favourites" will be included. Brands that it carries include Urban Decay, Koh Gen Do and Nudestix.

Reebonz, an online platform where shoppers can buy and sell luxury goods, will give discounts of up to 60 per cent off on brands such as Alexander McQueen and Given- chy, starting at 10am on Nov 27 to 6am on Nov 30.

Reebonz shoppers get an extra 15 per cent off their Black Friday purchases if they successfully piece together a discount code in the Reebonz Black Friday Reveal game, from Nov 23 to 26.

New to Black Friday sales is womenswear label Beyond The Vines. It started in May this year and products are sold through its online store. Its sale will start from midnight to 11.59pm on Nov 27, with 20 per cent off a selection from its Pre-Fall 2015 collection.

In anticipation of Black Friday orders, co-founder Daniel Chew, 29, says he has restocked popular designs, hired staff to pack orders on Saturday and engaged the service of two courier companies.

Brick and mortar stores are also offering Black Friday deals.

Tangs will hold its 12 per cent rebate days on Nov 27 and 28. It did the same last year during Black Friday.

It is understood that Robinsons will also participate in Black Friday, but the retailer declined to give more information. In a Straits Times report last year, Robinsons saw its sales increase more than four times on Black Friday last year as compared with the same day in 2013, when it did not hold a Black Friday sale.

A spokesman for department store Metro also confirmed that it would hold a Black Friday sale, but was unable to give details.

Japanese casual wear brand Uniqlo will hold an online Black Friday sale, but it also declined to give details.
