How would you describe your style?

Chic casual or dressed-down formal. I'm crazy about denim, long sleeves, collared tops and sneakers.

When did your interest in fashion start?

I can't pinpoint an exact moment, but I do recall running back and forth from my wardrobe to my mum, asking, "Is this okay?" or "Does this go with this?", as a frazzled 11-year-old.

My mum played a huge part in nurturing my unique fashion sense, by steering me in the right direction.

Who are your favourite designers and what are your go-to brands?

I'm not crazy about specific designers. I go for stylistic appeal, usually buying whatever catches my eye.

Brands that make my eyes light up are Zara, Yishion, Stradivarius, Bershka and Pull & Bear.

Who are your style icons?

South Korean singer-actress Im Yoona and American actresses Anne Hathaway and Emma Watson.

What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?

My navy blue collared dress (photo 1) that I bought from Zara for $39.90 and my black cold-shoulder top (photo 2) that I bought from New Look for $22.

The dress gives me a sweet and sophisticated look and the black top is a fun and comfortable piece to use for layering. I like to layer the black top with a denim overall dress (photo 3) I bought from H:Connect for $38.

Another favourite item of mine is a beaded necklace (photo 4) from Temt that cost $9.95. It's a dressy piece and I pair it with shirts to glam up my look. One of my favourite ways to style this piece is to wear it under the collar of a plain white-collared blouse - it looks chic.

What are your weaknesses when it comes to shopping?

I like clothes that are collared, cold-shouldered or denim.

I'm also a distracted shopper - I can enter a shop with a specific clothing item in mind and leave with a bunch of irrelevant items.

What is your favourite splurge piece?

I don't feel good splurging on clothes because I believe in shopping smart and being creative with my clothes to throw together a perfect outfit.

That being said, I splurged on a pair of Puma Basket Heart sneakers (photo 5), which I bought in London for $119. I pair them with everything and they are the perfect combination of sporty, girly and classy.

Is there a purchase you have regretted?

I don't like to dwell on mistakes, so let's just say the purchases I've regretted have found new homes with The Salvation Army or one of my younger cousins.

What is your most recent fashion purchase?

A frilly blue top that I bought from Zara for $45.90 (photo 6). I like it because it is simple, yet refined.

What is the best shopping or style advice you live by?

Don't be afraid to mix and match your clothes to create something new.

If you're a typical girl who always has "nothing to wear", try pairing random pieces in your wardrobe - things you'd never think would go together - and you might just end up creating something entirely new and entirely you.

When you leave the house thinking you look good and not fretting about what others think, you know you've got it.
