Q & A

Ms Chloe Choo, 23, fashion blogger, in a relationship

How would you describe your sense of style?

Minimalist with attention to detail. I wear mainly black and hardly touch colour because it is easier to dress in monochrome outfits.

When did your interest in fashion start?

I can't pinpoint a specific time, although when I was in secondary school, I would carry backpacks that others didn't have. For example, I had a black vinyl backpack printed with neon light signs when everyone else was mostly carrying canvas bags.

Who are your favourite designers and brands?

I like British clothing brand Jaded London for its eccentric prints. It is not what I would usually wear, but I like it because it is loud.

I also shop at online retailer Asos.com as it delivers straight to my door and has a wide variety of brands. I like its in-house brand Asos White for the simple and comfortable designs.

Who are your style icons?

I like American entrepreneur Kylie Jenner because she is a cool trendsetter. I like it when she wears oversized T-shirts. I also like American singer Lana Del Rey because she has a retro look.

What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?

My studded black bag (photo 1) from Bangkok because it is small but loud, and my holographic circle bag (photo 2) from Topshop, which is an instant head-turner.

My grey shoes (photo 3) are from online retailer Zalora.sg and I glued on felt ribbons that I made.

I also like my vintage 1980s Harley Davidson T-shirt (photo 4), which I bought from eBay.com for US$50 (S$67). The print is hard to come by for a Harley Davidson T-shirt, which usually has just the brand's logo on it.

What are your weaknesses when it comes to shopping?

Shoes and sunglasses. When I see unique designs, I just have to have it.

What is your favourite splurge piece?

My pink kaleidoscopic sunglasses (photo 5) from American brand h0les, which I bought for US$300 (S$402) last year. I have worn it only once because one of the lenses fell out when I wore it. I don't dare to wear it anymore.

Is there a purchase you have regretted?

Probably a pair of denim shorts that I bought from Bangkok - the material was not stretchable and it made my legs look like pig trotters. The cut was bad, but it looked good on display.

What is your most recent fashion purchase?

A $5 baby pink sweater (photo 6), which I bought from a clothing shop at Pasir Ris bus interchange two weeks ago. I like the colour.

What is the best shopping or style advice you live by?

Just believe in your style choices and disregard other people's opinions of it.
