LOS ANGELES • Twenty years after actress Kate Winslet helped propel a James Cameron movie towards titanic success, they are set to sail again on another adventure.

Winslet, who portrayed Rose alongside Leonardo DiCaprio's Jack in Cameron's 1997 mega hit Titanic, has signed on for his upcoming Avatar films.

"Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career," Cameron told Deadline.com.

He said Winslet, 42, will flesh out a character called Ronal, but did not reveal if Ronal is human or not.

It is also not known if the British actress will lend her presence to just one - or all the four planned sequels.

Cast members from Avatar (2009) - Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang - will return for the sequels.

Work on the four sequels reportedly started on Sept 25, with the first film slated to hit cinema screens in 2020.
