BEIJING • Coach Na Ying was unstoppable on The Voice Of China on Wednesday.

For the third time, a contestant she mentored won the singing competition, even though pop king and first-time coach Jay Chou had two proteges in the finale at the Bird's Nest, said NetEase website.

After two rounds, only two of the five finalists were left in the competition: Na's student, balladeer Zhang Lei; and Chou's student, rapper Chen Zitong (alias QueenT).

Chen stuck to performing her mentor Chou's compositions in all three rounds, rapping Extra Large Shoes with him first, then singing Actress Versed In Swordplay and Black Humour. But it was Zhang who won, after singing songs such as Na's A Dream and Chinese rocker Xu Wei's Travel, said NetEase.

He took a decisive 58.53 per cent of the votes from the 101-member jury and the audience.

Na's students, rocker Liang Bo and former K-pop singer Zhang Bichen, won the first and third seasons of the show.
