US fitness guru and actor Greg Plitt dies after being struck by train

Fitness expert and reality TV personality Greg Plitt died on Saturday in the United States after being hit by a commuter train.

CNN reported that the police have ruled out suicide in the incident that happened in Burbank, California. Plitt, 37, was shooting a video with a small crew on the southbound track of the Burbank Metrolink station when an oncoming train struck him.

Witnesses told police the train horn was blaring at the time of the accident, Burbank Police Sergeant Chris Canales said. It is unclear whether the crew captured footage of the incident.

The retired US Army Ranger Captain and fitness guru broke into television through Work Out, a reality series about fitness trainers and models in California.

He has also had minor roles in television and film. Following his death, several people, including fellow celebrity trainers like Russ Howe, have paid tribute to him for being passionate and one of the best in the fitness industry.
