Want to buy a town featured on the hit American TV show The Walking Dead?

Well, it seems you can, as long as you have a cool US$680,000 (S$927,000).

According to cnbc.com, Jim Sells, the former mayor of Grantville, Georgia, is selling nine buildings in the town on auction website eBay for that price.

The town appeared in Season 3 of The Walking Dead, and has gotten a lot of attention since.

Other films such as the American crime drama Lawless (2012), and music-drama Broken Bridges (2006) were also shot in the small town.

A check of the eBay auction listing showed that more than 1,200 users are keeping tabs on the auction, with around 200 people viewing the listing each hour.

The listing states that "three movies just signed up to film in Grantville". One of them happens to be a sequel to "the very popular The Ring", referencing the 2002 American horror remake of the 1998 Japanese cult classic, which starred actress Naomi Watts.

"These movies are another source of income for the next owner", the listing states.

The annual property tax is US$4,524, but the seller says it can command US$6,500 a month in rentals with less than half the occupancy.
