Home-grown singer-songwriter Linying has signed with North American music company Nettwerk Music Group.

The Canada-based company, which has a music label and does publishing and artist management, includes in its roster major names in the music industry including Irish star Sinéad O'Connor, acclaimed American indie-folk act Father John Misty, Grammy-winning pop band Fun and chart-topping pop singer Mike Posner.

The company is also known for helping acts break into the American market, including British giants Coldplay, Canadian acts Sarah McLachlan and Avril Lavigne, and Dutch dance music star Tiesto.

Linying, 22, is set to release her debut EP, Paris 12, on Friday (Sept 30) - and she is going truly global with it.

Nettwerk will release her music in North America and South America. Universal Music Group, which signed her in August, handles her music in Asia. In Europe and Australia, she is represented by British-based Akira Records. And Singapore music company Umami Records handles her music in Japan and the rest of the world.

Before she released her debut solo single Sticky Leaves last year, the indie-electronic singer had made her name in the global electronic music scene in recent years, starting in 2013, through her collaborations with German DJ and music producer Felix Jaehn, Belgian DJ and producer Lost Frequencies and French producer duo Krono.

She is currently in the midst of a global tour that includes performances in cities such as Berlin, London, Melbourne and Seoul.
