HONG KONG - Former friends Rosamund Kwan and Carina Lau met, but did not mingle with each other when they attended the wedding banquet for socialite Mo Yuk Ping's son and daughter-in-law on Monday, said reports.

The dinner at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre was the first time the actresses were at the same event a year after Kwan announced her divorce from businessman Pierre Chen, 58, and disapproved of Lau being photographed hiking with Mr Chen, said Apple Daily.

Arriving at the banquet, Kwan, 54, told the newspaper it would not be awkward to meet Lau, adding: "It should be more awkward for her."

Later, Lau, 50, told NetEase website they met but did not chat. She said she had done nothing wrong and felt no embarrassment, "but if saying so makes her more comfortable, let her be".
