Rock supergroup Generation Axe, which includes Steve Vai, to play in Singapore

Generation Axe, a band comprising some of rock and metal's most celebrated guitarists, will perform at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa on April 25.

They are Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt, and Tosin Abasi, and the show is part of their Asian tour that also sees them performing in other countries such as Japan, South Korea and Indonesia. The band made their debut last year with a tour spanning the United States.

Vai, the American Grammy-winning guitarist behind the supergroup, is known for his successful solo career as well as his past works with acts ranging from Frank Zappa to Whitesnake.

Swedish virtuoso Malmsteen has an extensive discography that includes 20 solo albums, including 2016's World On Fire, while American guitarist Wylde made his name by playing with rock/metal icon Ozzy Osbourne in the late 1980s before forming metal group Black Label Society.

Bettencourt, born in Portugal, is best known as the guitarist in American band Extreme and for his solo works, while Nigerian-American musician Abasi plays guitars for acclaimed American progressive metal band Animals As Leaders.
