Road To Ultra will make its debut in Singapore in September.

It is a series of international dance music parties launched by the producers of famed dance music festival brands Ultra and Ultra Worldwide.

The event will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands on Sept 19, during the Formula One race weekend. Its line-up will be announced in about a week's time.

Tickets, which are priced from $118, will go on sale from Tuesday at ultrasingapore.com .

Road To Ultra festivals often feature the hottest DJs in the electronic dance music scene, such as Tiesto and Hardwell.

Ultra Singapore organisers Alex Chew and Raj Datwani say the Sept 19 event is a "lead-up to a full blown Ultra Music Festival to be organised here in the coming years".

Since launching in 1999 in Miami Beach, Ultra has become one of the biggest dance music festivals in the world, with a stellar line-up of top-ranking international DJs.

This year, Ultra Music Festival Miami attracted a crowd of 165,000 music fans.

Road To Ultra, which was launched in 2012, has so far been held in Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Macau, Colombia and Paraguay.

The Singapore organisers of the event are not worried about launching a new dance music event here in the wake of the the recent cancellation of the Future Music Festival Asia in March over security and drug-related concerns.

Mr Chew says: "We are working closely with the relevant government bodies and boards to ensure the safety of our patrons.

"We all want Ultra to be a success here. Respecting the rules and working hand in hand with the authorities are the right ways to achieve that."
