Some of the most respected names in the global dance music industry will be speaking at a premier conference held in Singapore for the first time, in December.

Revered British musical tastemaker and DJ Pete Tong, British acid-house and trance DJ Paul Oakenfold, Canadian techno DJ Richie Hawtin, Greek-Swedish DJ Steve Angello of famed group Swedish House Mafia and British tech-house DJ Damian Lazarus are among those confirmed to speak at the International Music Summit.

Zouk owner and ZoukOut founder Lincoln Cheng, as well as Zouk's long-time resident DJ Jeremy Boon, will also speak at the inaugural Asia-Pacific edition of the event, which will be held at the W Singapore, Sentosa Cove on Dec 11.

The summit, founded in the dance music capital of Ibiza in 2007, is considered one of the biggest dance music conferences in the world, gathering the world's most influential DJs and their managers, agents, clubowners, and music label heads. In addition, announcements for the DJ touring season ahead are made, and industry-related deals are sewn up.

The Singapore summit will see about 30 DJs and industry players participate in talks and will also act as a platform for music technology collaboration and creation. Here, new music technology and exclusive remixes are showcased.

Expect fresh faces to the dance music scene - whether new DJ-producers or record labels - to be introduced.

Early-bird ticket special for the first 100 people at $125 each; subsequent tickets at $160 and late tickets $205. Special IMS plus ZoukOut 2014 combo tickets at $310. Go to www.internationalmusicsummit.com for details.
