The forces behind the biggest dance festivals in the region - home-grown party ZoukOut and Indonesia's Djakarta Warehouse Project - are coming together to organise Beach Beats Fest at Palawan Green on Sentosa.

The inaugural festival will be held on National Day and feature English DJ-producer-singer Mark Ronson, Dutch DJ and producer Sam Feldt, Singapore indie singer- songwriter Charlie Lim as well as singer-songwriter Hayden James and beat-maker Ta-ku from Australia.

Ronson, responsible for hits such as Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars and Valerie with the late Amy Winehouse, will bring soul and funk to the proceedings, while Feldt is known for his deep house and tropical house tunes.

A line-up of home-grown music acts of the indie variety will be curated by alternative radio station Lush 99.5FM. They will be announced closer to the event.

The tropical-themed festival is a first-time collaboration between Singapore nightlife stalwart Zouk and Indonesian events and entertainment company Ismaya Live and it will be held at the newly constructed Palawan Green, which is located next to Beach Station on the Sentosa Express monorail line.

The green turf along the beach will play host to what has been billed by the organisers as a carnival with "top-notch music and an exciting pool of activities".

Early-bird tickets priced at $78 go on sale from 2pm today via www.beachbeatsfest.com. There will be two other rounds of releases at yet-to-be announced dates with tickets priced at $88 and $98, with tickets at the door at $118.

VIP entry, which includes express entry, a special drinks menu and access to dedicated bars and toilets, is $168 for individual tickets and $2,500 a table in the VIP area for 10 people, including entry.

The event is restricted to those 18 years old and above.
