HONG KONG - Nicholas Tse, entertainment tycoon?
The Hong Kong star has been lauded as an entertainment tycoon in the media after a stake he bought in a Hong Kong entertainment and media company made him richer on paper by HK$140 million (S$23 million).
He became publicly-listed See Corp's biggest shareholder after selling a controlling stake about a week ago in his post-production company for HK$122.5 million, say reports.
See Corp is paying him with new shares and, on re-listing last week, the share more than doubled in price - with Tse's portion becoming worth about HK$262 million, according to business reports.
"I will continue to work hard," the 34-year-old said through his manager when asked about his latest financial exploit.
With his latest money streak coming after his recent reunion with old flame Faye Wong, 45, some fans are saying on the Internet that the Chinese singer has brought him luck.
