Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan managed to do the near-impossible in getting the crowd at The Star Theatre to put away their phones as he played the title song from his debut album, Flicker, on Tuesday night.

The audience of about 4,000, comprising mostly screaming girls, quietened down and listened to Horan, 24, as he told them how the song "was a good thing that came out of a bad thing".
