TAIPEI - That was fast.

Newlywed pop king Jay Chou has announced that he is expecting a child with model Hannah Quinlivan, said Taiwan's Apple Daily website today.

Less than three months after their wedding in England, he shared the news with a photo of the couple sporting matching his-and-hers bumps on Facebook after midnight.

Chou, 36, is pictured posing with a ball under his T-shirt in the photo, while Quinlivan, 21, shows off an apparent bump.

The caption read: "We'll see who walks better with a ball."

In Taiwan, pregnancy is colloquially called carrying a ball.

Chou's label JVR Music confirmed the pregnancy news and his manager said the couple had on Thursday just returned home after honeymooning in Japan and Thailand.

It has been a fast track for Chou to impending fatherhood.

He and Quinlivan registered their marriage last November and held their three multi-continent wedding celebrations between Jan 17 and March 9.

He had promised to wed before his 36th birthday on Jan 18 and have a baby this year.

Chou had not said how far along Quinlivan is, according to his manager, but the speculation is that she is at least three months' pregnant.

She had reportedly fainted backstage during New York Fashion Week last month.

In January, she tearfully quit a television dancing contest, citing her upcoming marriage. But talk now is that she was already pregnant then.

Still, appearing to either deflect or deny talk of her pregnancy, she had downed wine in a wedding toast in Taipei on March 9 and on March 22 had posted a picture of herself dressed in ski gear.
