New deputy chairman for Singapore Symphony Orchestra

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra has announced Mr Chng Hak-Peng's appointment as deputy chairman of the SSO.

The managing partner of Devaro Partners, a leadership and strategy execution advisory firm, has served as a director on the SSO board since September 2011. He works with top management in private equity funds, their portfolio companies and corporations on enhancing shareholder value through leadership development.

Two other moves were announced: The newly-appointed deputy chief executive of the National Arts Council, Mr Paul Tan, will also join the SSO Board from June 1. Ms Yvonne Tham, who will be joining the Esplanade as its assistant chief executive, will be stepping down from the SSO board of directors. The 15-member SSO board is chaired by Mr Goh Yew Lin, also chairman of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.
