Can't get enough of the Avengers? Many of the characters from Marvel Studio's recent film, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, will return in next year's Captain America: Civil War.

According to its official website, Marvel Studios has commenced principal photography for the third instalment in the Captain America franchise, where Chris Evans will reprise his role as the titular superhero.

The studio also confirmed that Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Paul Bettany (The Vision) will also appear.

Of Age Of Ultron's main cast, only Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) will not be in the new movie.

New to the team will be Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. His standalone movie debuts on July 17 this year.

Captain America: Civil War is set for a May 6, 2016, release in the United States.

Age Of Ultron saw the second-biggest North American opening weekend of all time, raking in US$191.3 million (S$255 million), behind the US$207.4 million recorded by the original Avengers film in 2012.

Age Of Ultron is still playing in Singapore cinemas.
