More men in trouble

VINCENT CIRRINCIONE

The 70-year-old who helped propel Halle Berry and Taraji Henson to stardom shut his management agency on Monday following allegations that he sexually harassed aspiring black actresses over a period of two decades.

He said he made the decision to close after 40 years in business to protect the two dozen actors he represented. "This business is hard enough and I don't want to distract in any way from their careers," he added.

The Washington Post reported last week that nine women of colour had accused Cirrincione of dangling Berry's and Henson's achievements as he pressed them for sex.

LAURENT POTDEVIN

The chief executive of Lululemon Athletica, famous for its leggings and role in the creation of the athleisure trend, has resigned.

The company said the 50-year-old failed to "exemplify the highest levels of integrity and respect for one another" but did not give examples.

Lululemon will give him an upfront payment of US$3.35 million (S$4.4 million), followed by US$1.65 million spread over 18 months.

RYAN SEACREST

The host said sexual harassment claims against him have taught him not to take the presumption of innocence for granted.

In November, a wardrobe stylist, who worked with him a decade ago on E! News, claimed that he had behaved inappropriately.

The network investigated, but found "insufficient evidence".

Penning a guest column in Hollywood Reporter, Seacrest noted: "We are taught early on that it's essential to see all sides, to give everyone a chance to explain and to check for exculpatory evidence that may have been missed.

"At a time when improper interactions between men and women, particularly in the workplace, are part of a national conversation, we must find a way to ensure that everyone - the public, private and public institutions, accusers and alleged accused - is given the opportunity for a swift and fair review."
