Manilow rushed to hospital

LOS ANGELES • American singer- songwriter Barry Manilow was rushed to a hospital last Thursday, forcing him to cancel dates on what he has said will be his final tour.

Manilow, 72, who had just played a sold-out show in Memphis, was taken to a Los Angeles hospital "due to complications from emergency oral surgery" he underwent on Monday, according to a statement on his Facebook page.

He postponed shows scheduled for Thursday and yesterday, although his managers said they would be rescheduled.

Manilow has suffered a series of health scares over the years.

His One Last Time - One Last Tour is due to end on June 23 at the O2 Arena in London.

The statement says it was unclear if he would be able to attend Monday's Grammy Awards ceremony, where he is nominated for his 15th Grammy for his album, My Dream Duets.
