SEOUL • K-drama star Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, his agency said yesterday.
“Kim Woo Bin wasn’t feeling well and recently visited a doctor. We found out that he has nasopharyngeal cancer,” Sidus HQ said in a statement.
“He started receiving drug treatment and radiation therapy. Please cheer for and support him.”
The agency also said the 27- year-old star of the dramas The Heirs (2013) and Vampire Idol (2011) would focus on his treatment for a while.
Nasopharyngeal cancer affects the nasopharynx, which is in the upper part of the throat, behind the nose.
Kim was preparing to start filming the upcoming movie tentatively titled Docheong (Wiretap) in summer. The production team said it will begin filming later and wait for him to return in good health.
