SEOUL (THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Ahn So Jin, one of the Baby Kara members who vied to join girl group Kara in television competition Kara Project, has died in an apparent suicide. She was 22.

She was found unconscious in a garden of an apartment building in her home city, Daejeon, last Tuesday, said reports. The police suspected she jumped off the 10th floor, said allkpop website. She was said to be suffering from depression.

Entertainment agency DSP Media confirmed her death on Wednesday.

She was said to have returned home after Heo Young Ji won the show in July last year. According to Soompi website, Ahn had been a DSP trainee for five years before she and the agency ended her contract a month ago.

On the show last year, she had said: "My motto is to live happily. All the pains and difficulties I went through are remembered as happy moments as time passes."

She added: "Once things pass, they no longer seem serious. So I try to enjoy my life even when I feel pain."
