K-pop star G-Dragon falls into hole during Bangkok concert

BANGKOK - While performing in Bangkok on Saturday (July 8), South Korean pop star G-Dragon fell into a hole meant for stage lift.

In fan videos, the 28-year-old leader of boy band Big Bang appears to not have noticed the hole open up behind him, and falls in as fans scream and stage hands rush to the hole. Moments later, he reappears to continue playing the rest of the show at the Impact Arena.

According to Korean pop culture website Soompi, a representative from his agency YG Entertainment said that G-Dragon had missed his cue for the lift as he was "so immersed in his performance".

"Thankfully, he landed upright on his feet so he didn't end up with any injuries. He said he could continue with the rest of his concert," the statement added.

G-Dragon also performed two shows at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on June 25 and 26.

His shows in Asia are part of his solo world tour ACT III, M.O.T.T.E, which kicked off on June 10 in Seoul. M.O.T.T.E stands for Moment Of Truth The End.

He will play in Seattle on Tuesday (July 11) as part of the North American leg of his tour.
