It is confirmed - Janet Jackson is expecting her first child, at age 50.
The younger sister of late king of pop Michael Jackson in April stunned fans by halting a global tour and saying that she and her husband, Qatari tycoon Wissam Al Mana, 41, were "planning our family".
Al Mana is her third husband, after singer James DeBarge and dancer Rene Elizondo Jr.
Jackson has been discreet about her personal life and did not immediately publicise her 2012 marriage to Al Mana. So who is Wissam Al Mana?
1. He is a billionaire businessman
The Qatari businessman manages 55 companies - a Middle Eastern empire that includes fashion, media, engineering and real estate industries.
His eponymous company, Al Mana, has bases in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman as well as in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
He is the executive director of Al Mana's fashion portfolio, which includes Hermes, Sonia Rykiel and Agent Provocateur.
He has an estimated net worth of US$1 billion (S$1.38 billion).
2. Jackson is his "dream woman"
Al Mana had gushed about the singer in an interview with fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar Arabia in 2010.
"I'm fortunate enough to be dating my dream woman," he told the magazine. He also referred to Jackson as a "very special and talented woman who never ceases to amaze me" in another interview with VMAN Magazine.
3. He enjoys globe-trotting
Al Mana and Jackson live a jet-setting lifestyle. The pair have been spotted at locations worldwide through the year. In 2015, the couple were seen at the Armani 50th anniversary dinner at Nobu in Milan, after they had been spotted shopping for shoes there just months before in February.
He told Entrepreneur in 2014: "We love travelling... we love going to nice, exotic places far away from the world and from prying eyes."
4. Jackson's music is based on him
Jackson came back in 2015 after her seven-year hiatus from music. Her first single on her album Unbreakable was a track called No Sleep dedicated to Al Mana. Her dedication was made complete with a post on Twitter, referring to Al Mana as "My Love".
5. Al Mana treasures family
Al Mana's strong sense of family comes from his business background.
"My father passed away when I was quite young, and I felt that it was my duty to kind of pick up the flag and to continue the business, and try to continue the legacy and the family name," he told Entrepreneur.
"It's in our blood, we're merchants. When I was a child, I looked at my father's passport and his occupation said 'Merchant'. I asked my mum, and she explained that we are merchants. We take pride in that, it's our heritage."
Family for him is key to his multimillion-dollar company's success. With a new addition to the Al Mana family, the proud family tradition looks set to continue.
