TAIPEI - A Touch Of Green, a drama about post-war Taiwan adapted from a Pai Hsien-yung short story, was the top winner at the Golden Bell Awards on Saturday (Oct 8).

It took six prizes, including Best Drama and Best Actor for Wu Kang-ren, for his role as a tragic wartime pilot, said Taiwan Apple Daily. It is based on the story of the same title from the book Taipei People.

Alice Ko won Best Actress for Marry Me, Or Not?, a romcom reuniting her with Roy Chiu after their 2011 hit Office Girls.

Best Children's Show Host went to Huang Jinglun and his co-host Megan Liao for Science, a show that investigates the scientific phenomena observed in Chinese idioms. Singaporean Huang first drew attention as a contestant on the singing contest One Million Star, before becoming more successful as a host on shows such as Super Taste - Stay The Night.

Jacky Wu and his daughter Sandy won Best Variety Show Host for Super Followers, a talk show that has the unenviable task of replacing the long-running hit Mr Con & Ms Csi.

He joked that the judges gave her the award "to encourage the new generation", said Apple Daily.

She said: "My dad is always getting into trouble, it's embarrassing. The judges don't live with him, so they are willing to give him this award, it's really big of them."

He said afterwards: "I was worried that my daughter would be disappointed at not winning, but also afraid she would win too soon."

Best Variety Show went to the talent show Top Million Star.
