Roller coasters and other rides based on The Hunger Games films will anchor new theme parks in the United States and China, Mr Tim Palen, movie studio Lionsgate's chief brand officer, was quoted as saying in a New York Times story yesterday.

The parks, which are planned for areas near Atlanta and Macau, will join an already announced The Hunger Games stage show in London as well as an elaborate Lionsgate zone at a US$3-billion (S$4-billion) entertainment complex that is under construction between Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

The Hunger Games' final film Mockingjay - Part 2 opens worldwide on Nov 20.
