Some of dance music's biggest names in the world will be here in September for the inaugural Road To Ultra Singapore.

Among the first phase of superstar DJs announced for the Sept 19 event are Alesso, Grammy-winning Skrillex, Nicky Romero and Mija.

Road To Ultra is a series of international dance music parties launched by the producers of famed dance music festival brands Ultra and Ultra Worldwide.

The maiden Singapore edition will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands on the Saturday of the Formula One race weekend.

The Singapore organisers have said that Road To Ultra Singapore is a "lead-up to a full blown Ultra Music Festival to be organised here in the coming years".

Since launching in 1999 in Miami Beach, Ultra has become one of the biggest dance music festivals in the world, with a stellar line-up of top-ranking international DJs.

This year, Ultra Music Festival Miami attracted a crowd of 165,000 music fans.

Road To Ultra, which was launched in 2012, has so far been held in Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Macau, Colombia and Paraguay.
