BEIJING - Hong Kong stars Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka Fai and Chow Yun Fat appeared at the opening ceremony of the sixth Beijing International Film Festival on Saturday for their film Cold War 2.

The sequel to the hit 2012 crime thriller opens in July. Eddie Peng also returns in the new film. Chow joins the cast, playing a lawyer.

At a press conference, Kwok said more Cold War instalments may be expected. "The next one could be Cold War 7 or a Cold War prequel. The characters who died in Cold War could very well re-appear on screen."

Stars such as Natalie Portman, Christoph Waltz, Lee Min Ho, Ethan Juan, Vivian Dawson and Tang Wei also attended the festival, which closes on Saturday.
