Hong Kong star Louis Koo injured his eye while filming a movie earlier this week, the 47-year-old actor told his fans on Sina Weibo on Thursday (Oct 26).
"Hi everyone, two days ago while filming at Xiangshan, I accidentally hurt my right eye and doctors gave me eight stitches," he wrote.
"I was supposed to be doing a promo for my Always Be With You film in Shenzhen tomorrow, but now I can't even do that," he added.
Koo said he felt sorry that he could not turn up for the event and apologised to fans who were looking forward to it.
He added that he would get some rest and focus on recovering quickly.
Koo was filming Dynasty Warriors when his eye was injured by a weapon prop, Malaysian news site Kwong Wah reported.
On Friday, Koo turned up for the opening of the Michael Kors Flagship Store in Hong Kong, with Hong Kong singer and actress Sammi Cheng.
Koo, who wore dark sunglasses, told reporters that his right eye was bloody from the injury, and that it hurt even to blink.
He added that it would take him three to four weeks to recover.
Koo, who has been named Hong Kong's top-earning actor several times, including in 2013, 2015 and 2016, rose to fame in the 1990s.
He has won several awards including Hong Kong television station TVB's Best Actor award twice.
