Hong Kong star Chapman To will be filming his directorial debut feature in Singapore and Malaysia next month.

The 43-year-old actor-producer's comedy, tentatively titled Let's Eat, will showcase all things delicious about South-east Asian cuisine. Starring himself in the lead role, it is supported by a regional cast including Hong Kong's Aimee Chan and Lo Hoi Pang, Malaysia's Tommy Kuan and Singapore's Patricia Mok. More cast details will be announced later on.

The co-production between Singapore's Clover Films and Malaysia's Asia Tropical Films is slated for release next year.

To is best known for starring in comedies such as Vulgaria (2012) and From Vegas To Macau (2014), and action dramas such as Initial D (2005) and the Infernal Affairs trilogy, but he has recently found success behind the scenes as a producer as well. He has produced films such as the huge box office hit Sara (2014), which featured Charlene Choi in steamy sex scenes, as well as the family drama Isabella (2006), which was nominated for the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 2006 Berlin International Film Festival.
