LOS ANGELES • As the storm engulfing Harvey Weinstein blew fiercer over the course of last week, the disgraced producer found shelter in calmer waters.

Still, over the weekend, he decided to check out from the sex addiction rehabilitation facility in Arizona after spending just a week there.

According to celebrity gossip portal TMZ, he attended just one group therapy session, with doctors opting subsequently for private sessions, mindful of what the 65-year-old might reveal about his encounters with famous personalities.

But Weinstein, who is now a Hollywood pariah, will still be in Arizona for now to continue with his rehabilitation.

He was apparently well-behaved when he was at the centre.

A psychologist told TMZ that Weinstein - who stayed in a hotel - "showed up for all meetings and was fully engaged".

Meanwhile, Weinstein's former chauffeur has told The Sun how the producer routinely picked up women when he was in France to attend film and TV festivals.

The driver quit when Weinstein allegedly attacked him in 2013 when he got upset over a botched romp with two East European hookers.
