3RD GGC ANNIVERSARY

Home-grown hip-hop collective Grizzle Grind Crew - whose line-up includes big names such as rapper Shigga Shay and rapper-actor Tosh Rock (aka Tosh Zhang from the Ah Boys movies) as well as rapper-comedian Fakkah Fuzz - celebrates its third anniversary with a blow-out at Zouk. In an unusual move for a club gig, the crew, which also comprises DJs, producers and film-makers, is making the event an all-ages show with free admission.

AN EVENING WITH TOM JONES – LIVE

For decades, Welsh singing icon Tom Jones has been known for his big, bombastic pop classics such as Delilah, It’s Not Unusual and She’s A Lady. It is a safe bet that his setlist will include all these evergreen anthems. But the man has also been putting out new works – such as the 2015 album Long Lost Suitcase – that are a lot more rootsy and subtle. Chances are, this upcoming show will feature all the different facets of his extensive discography.

BARTERMARKET 2.0/STREET PARTY AT JALAN PISANG

Jalan Pisang in Kampong Glam will be closed to traffic for this event, in which shoppers are expected to barter products with the vendors setting up shop there instead of paying with cash. And because it is also a street party, there will be music from fresh, cutting-edge acts from the home-grown electronic music label Phyla, namely DJ and producers Anomy, Fzpz and Harv Chail.
