ALBARE

Australian-based jazz guitarist Albare is a global soul. Born Albert Dadon in Morocco, he has lived in Israel and France, before settling in Melbourne. The musician-composerproducer, known as the jazz activist behind several festivals in the Australian city, brings his brand of acid jazz here for one night.

ANUGERAH PLANET MUZIK 2014

Singapore's biggest awards show for regional Malay music talent is back. The event, organised by MediaCorp's Malay Broadcast Division, television station Suria, and radio stations Warna 94.2FM and Ria 89.7FM, will feature a who's who of the Malay entertainment scene, including local singer Taufik Batisah, Malaysian rock veterans Wings, Indonesian singer Judika and Malaysian pop queen Siti Nurhaliza.

ELECTRICO - LOVE @ THE SUB

Bad weather meant that local indie trio Electrico's set in Kuala Lumpur, at August's Good Vibes Festival, was cancelled. They are making up for that with this gig. Pay what you want for the show. All proceeds from ticket and bar sales at this fund-raiser for The Substation will go to the arts centre's repair works.

ALEX SIPIAGIN QUARTET LIVE AT SINGJAZZ CLUB

Russian-born, United States-based jazz trumpet player Alex Sipiagin has played with greats like Eric Clapton and Michael Brecker, but is also an acclaimed solo musician with 13 recordings to his name. His two sets here will feature a band comprising local jazz's Kerong Chok on organs, Teriver Cheung guitars and Wen Ming Soh on drums.
