Guitar titans Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather have joined forces for a gig here. It is going to be a night of interesting jams as five-time Grammy winner Lukather, best known as the guitarist in veteran rock band Toto, considers jazz man and four-time Grammy winner Carlton as his sensei (teacher in Japanese). The duo will be supported by drummer Keith Carlock, keyboardist Jeff Babko and bassist Travis Carlton.

Seminal hip-hop trio The Beastie Boys might be no more, but here is the next best thing - their acclaimed turntablist, Mix Master Mike, is performing here. The two-time DMC world champion from San Francisco will be offering a set list that will range from old-school tracks such as The Notorious B.I.G. to contemporary hip-hop acts such as A$AP Rocky.

TAJ PRESENTS THE ASTRAL JOURNEY

The release of their eponymous debut single in late 2013 whetted listeners' appetite for more original tunes from soul/jazz/hip-hop instrumental trio TAJ. The wait is over and the band, comprising (from left) Teo Jia Rong on drums, Audrey Tengkey on keyboards and Tim De Cotta on bass, have finally completed their debut EP. To drum up buzz for the launch at the end of the month and to give a live preview of their fresh tracks, the band will play three sets at the Esplanade's waterfront stage.

7NIGHTSATSEA PRESENTS: PLEASE DON'T STEP (QING JANGAN PATI)

The first instalment of a series, Terra Firma, by home-grown post-rockers 7nightsatsea, this show will be an audio and visual fest, with the band's live set accentuated by art by designer and photographer SIX. The quintet have also roped in fellow bands and collaborators, hardcore band To Hell With You, post-hardcore/indie punk outfit False Plaintiff and a final live show by alt-hardcore band Isles.

CROSSING SEAS

On his last EP Speaking In Tongues (2014), Taiwan's Yoga Lin collaborated with the indie band Elephant Gym on the light rock title number. If your curiosity was piqued by that track, this is your chance to check out the bass-driven Taiwanese math-rock trio live.

Also in the line-up are Malaysia's NAO, a trio influenced by Japanese music, as well as Singapore's Sphaeras, a post-rock quartet.
