TEGAN AND SARA LIVE IN SINGAPORE

Canadian twin sisters Tegan (above, left) and Sara (above, right) are back in town. Their recently released eighth album, Love You To Death, continues the synth-pop sounds of 2013's commercial hit Heartthrob and has been getting rave reviews. The pair are expected to play a mix of old and new songs.

GARDEN BEATS FESTIVAL VOL.2

Dubbed as an "electronic picnic festival", the latest edition of Garden Beats will feature melodic house and a live set from Dutch electronic act Bakermat (top) in his first South-east Asian tour. Fellow Dutch act Kraak & Smaak will do a DJ set of funk, disco and house, alongside Austrian deep house duo Mowe (above) and Thai electronica act Moodwax as well as regulars in the home-grown DJ scene - Joshua P, KFC and Maurice Simon.

MAGRUDERGRIND

Brooklyn-based grindcore and powerviolence band Magrudergrind (above) released their long-awaited new album, II, earlier this year after a six-year hiatus. Back in Singapore for their second show here, their gig will feature home-grown supporting acts Demisor, Truth Be Known, Abolition A.D., Minus and B.C.

IGNITE! MUSIC FESTIVAL

This year's edition of Ignite!, an annual music festival featuring home-grown acts, has a varied line-up of artists, with popular names such as rapper TheLionCityBoy (above) to pop-punk/ indie veterans Plainsunset as well as rising bands such as Tell Lie Vision and Bear Culture. Organised by Republic Polytechnic students, the festival is into its ninth year.

THE GATHERING WITH BIRDY

British singer-songwriter Birdy (above), at 20, has already had a Brit Award nomination for British Female Solo Artist and contributed tracks to hit movies such as The Fault In Our Stars (2014) and The Hunger Games (2012). Her third album, Beautiful Lies, was recently released and she plays her first gig in Singapore.
