2016 BIGBANG MADE [V.I.P] TOUR IN SINGAPORE

South Korean pop superstars BigBang will be meeting Singapore fans this weekend - but without the quintet's rapper T.O.P. He has apologised for his absence, citing "difficulty in his schedule".

Fans will still be thrilled to have the remaining four - Seungri, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung. On top of performing songs, BigBang will play games with fans on- stage.

According to the event organiser, tickets are selling fast.

BigBang, one of South Korea's biggest pop stars, last held a full-length concert here last year.

Mediacorp's regional Malay music awards show features a star- studded cast of performers and nominees, including Singapore-born Malay music icon M. Nasir (photo), Sufi Rashid and Aisyah Aziz from Singapore, Ayda Jebat from Malaysia, as well as Raisa Andriana and Cakra Khan from Indonesia.

STARKER MUSIC CARNIVAL 2016

China's Della Ding Dang (photo), the singer behind recent Mandopop hits such as Give Me One Love, is among the performers at this new music carnival. She is joined by acts from the home-grown music scene including singer-songwriters Charlie Lim, Tay Kewei, and Lew and synthpop outfit Disco Hue.

JAZZY BUSINESS

Singapore's most established jazz man and Cultural Medallion recipient Jeremy Monteiro (photo) celebrates his 40th anniversary in music with a concert that features works from his long and varied career. It features a plethora of guest stars, from Grammy-winning American jazz veterans Lee Ritenour and Ernie Watts, to his regular home-grown collaborators such as Jacintha Abisheganaden and Rahimah Rahim. The gig is held in conjunction with The Business Times' 40th anniversary.
