It was off and now it may be on again. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, both 44, have called off filing for divorce, People magazine reported.

After going through a tough time that almost led to a permanent split, they are giving their relationship another go, the report added.

"She really wants to work things out with Ben. They are giving things another try," People said, citing a source close to Garner.

But this may just be a pause, not a reprieve, for the relationship that has been on the rocks for years.

"Their relationship is very fluid and nothing has really changed," a source told E! News, adding that they are "co-parenting".

The couple announced on June 30, 2015, one day after their 10-year anniversary, that they were separating, but have continued to remain close.

It was reported then that they had already been in therapy for years. They have seen each other and their children often, even living together and going on family holidays. They have three children - Violet, 11, Seraphina, eight, and Samuel, five.

The couple met on the set of Pearl Harbor (2001) and fell in love while shooting Daredevil (2003).
