NEW YORK • Gal Gadot took home a less-than-super pay cheque of US$300,000 (S$414,000) for playing the superheroine in blockbuster Wonder Woman. But the 32-year-old Israeli actress is wielding her "power" now to negotiate for a higher pay since she has helped the movie to gross nearly US$657 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is reportedly working on a sequel.
No wonder then that Gadot told a TMZ videographer earlier this week she is "grateful and happy" with her US$300,000 reward, knowing that she is on the track to stardom now. Fans were left amazed when her paltry pay cheque was revealed last week.
For the record, American actor Robert Downey Jr is reportedly getting US$200 million for Avengers: Infinity War parts I and II, due out next year and in 2019, according to reports. He plays Iron Man in the movies that also feature Thor and the Hulk.
Gadot will also appear in the other superhero universe, Justice League, due out on Nov 17, where her Wonder Woman character and Batman team up to rope in other superheroes to avert a catastrophe on Earth.
