Following in the footsteps of compatriot Benedict Cumberbatch, British singer and former Spice Girl Gerri Halliwell took the traditional route to announcing her engagement with Christian Horner, team principal of Formula One's Red Bull team.
People.com reported that Halliwell and Horner posted the good news in The Times of London on Tuesday, with an announcement which read: "The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A. Parkinson."
The 42-year-old, who was popularly known as Ginger Spice during her stint with the Spice Girls, later confirmed the engagement to Horner, 40, on her Twitter account.
Actor Cumberbatch's parents had taken out a similar notice in the same paper last week to announce their son's upcoming nuptials with theatre director girlfriend Sophie Hunter.
